This prototype module has been built into a calculator pencil box which was acquired from Avon, the cosmetics company. It connects to the user's computer through a built in serial cable, and comes with a power adapter, a Quick Start Guide, an Instruction Manual, and an informative CD. The next version will have a detatchable two line LCD display, for use with the setup procedures. The module is a Universal Reader Simulator Appliance (thus URSA), and
this one, without the display or any fancy options, is designated as Minor.

The URSA is a simple device, intended to reduce the developer's learning effort. The four key elements are the Power connector, the Serial connector, the Display, and the Keyboard.
